Our July 24th Point Judish fishing charter is one to remember for one angler and his buddies.  We Left the dock at 5am with Mike and friends from CT.  We were traveling some very rough waters all the way out heading towards Block Island and the North Corner.  Once we arrived we dropped the lines in the water and tried jigging and trolling with no luck.  We then headed to the Southwest corner and at about three miles from the corner we started trolling.  After a short time, we started jigging.  We spotted 2 fish on the fish finder and immediately hooked up while jigging wire.  The fish was taking so much line out that we put the boat in reverse to ensure it didn’t take it all out.  We knew this was going to be a big one because Mike fought the fish for 15 minutes.  When we could finally see the fish beneath the water we could see it was massive. When he finally brought it to the boat we could not believe our eyes.  This fish was huge…44lbs and 48″ long!  Biggest fish of the season to date!  Far too big for the net, therefore, we had to gaff it.  NICE!

This ended up being our only striped bass on the entire trip.  Since the bass weren’t hitting any longer we decided to go for some bottom fish; flounder and sea bass and loaded up on both.

This was one heckuva trip, epic!  We enjoyed having Mike and his buddies onboard and hope to see him again soon.

Thank you for coming onboard the Aces Wild!
