The week of June 21st, 2020 was a successful one for the Aces Wild and our customers. We chartered a number of Block Island fishing charters and our customers have had a great time. Striped Bass fishing off Block Island has been great. We have been landing some really nice stripers off Block Island. We’re trolling frame & tube rigs. Our anglers are enjoying bringing in Stripers of all sizes. The larger striped bass are in the 42” to 50” range. Really crazy considering just about one week ago most every Striper was undersized!
The typical fishing locations included the Southwest Point, the Rip, the Northwest Point, and several others. Our anglers on numerous occasions were bringing up 2 and 3 striped bass at a time. With 300-350′ of steel line with a 40+ inch striper at the end of the line, THAT’S one heckuva fight.
And of course no fishing adventure is complete without your bluefish! Striped bass and bluefish and standard on any day of Rhode Island saltwater fishing. Noting above the size of the Stripers, many of these beauties were released back into the ocean to comply with this years Rhode Island striped bass limits and to allow the stripers to spawn another year. Bringing back up the stock is a priority. Nonetheless, we’re finding our anglers enjoying the thrill of the hunt more than anything!
RI fishing, whether in Narragansett bay, the Warwick Neck, or somewhere off the Block Island sound, is a great day of fishing. The Ocean state has much to offer in a rhode island striped bass charter among many other fishing charters. The beautiful clear waters and types of fish attract fisherman from all over. Whether you are a group of seasoned anglers, or you are vacationing on Block Island with your family and children, an Aces Wild light tackle fishing trip is a real exciting time.
Captain Earl and Matt love to fish, and they know where to catch them. They have a great reputation for finding the fish and having a great time. Whether it’s a full-day or half-day charter using light-tackle, you are in for a thrill sport fishing on a Rhode Island fishing charter.
Flounder
The flounder fishing continues to improve every day. We’ve actually landed some very large flounder recently. Sure, you have to go through quite a few smaller ones, however, that big one is worth the wait! And as the water warms, the flounder fishing will of course get even better. The 27+ inch keepers will become more frequent occurrences during each flounder tripe. Our staple locations for flounder fishing are all either off Point Judith or Block Island
